Denise Siele serves as Press Secretary to the Leader of Canada’s Official Opposition. Prior to this role, she led a Public Affairs firm working with leaders and stakeholders across national, provincial and local governments. A seasoned political strategist, she has been a regular political analyst and commentator on Canada’s major television and radio network.
She is a past president of the Canadian Club of Ottawa; and serves on the Telus Ottawa Community Board. She was a director of the Youth Services Bureau Charitable Foundation; the Algonquin College Foundation Board; chair of Ottawa’s Fund for a New Generation; and founder of both the Black Women’s Civic Engagement Network and the Vivante fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
Amongst awards, Denise Siele is a 2015 recipient of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Forty under 40 Award; 2015 Ottawa Life Magazine Top 25 People in the Capital; and in 2016 was named one of the 100 Most Accomplished Black Canadian Women.
She lives in Ottawa with her husband Fred Sherman and their son.
